RO­TAR­IAN Alan Bond, a mem­ber and for­mer Pres­i­dent of the Ro­tary Club of South­port Links, died in Septem­ber 2017 at South­port and Formby District Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal.

As a me­mo­rial fam­ily, friends and club joined to­gether to pur­chase a greatly-needed re­cliner chair to be used by vis­it­ing fam­ily in the Oa­sis Room at the hos­pi­tal, pic­tured far right.

Formby Squir­rels Ro­tary Club

Guests com­pli­mented Formby Squir­rels Ro­tary Club on a re­lax­ing evening and asked when the next one will be!

The evening raised a fan­tas­tic £810 which will be do­nated to lo­cal char­i­ties that the club are sup­port­ing this year: CVS, Lan­cashire Wildlife Trust, Save the Red Squir­rels, NW Air-Am­bu­lance and Bridge Inn Farm.

The club would like to thank lo­cal busi­nesses that sup­ported the event – Co-op, Tesco, Spar and Waitrose – for their kind do­na­tions.

Their next event will be a Ceildh with Gal­li­maufry Ceilidh Band on Fe­bru­ary 9.

Formby Squir­rels have also been very busy help­ing the Formby Ro­tary Club with the Christ­mas Float – a leg­endary event in the area.

Thanks go to the Formby Squir­rels for all their sup­port from Formby Ro­tary mem­bers.

All Ro­tary Clubs have been busy col­lect­ing through­out the year and at Christ­mas to give the money back to de­serv­ing causes and fam­i­lies.

South­port Ro­tary Club

South­port Ro­tary Club is al­ways busy through­out the year with col­lec­tions and es­pe­cially at this time do­na­tions of toys cho­co­late and food are be­ing bagged up ready to go to de­serv­ing fam­i­lies in the area that have been re­ferred to the club.

South­port Ro­tary thanks ev­ery­one who has do­nated money, toys cho­co­late to make a happy Christ­mas for many dis­tressed fam­i­lies at this time of year in our area.
