Brigade have released a mixed selection of 6mm AFVS and some Carnivorous Plants. Now – nominally – the plants are 28m‘scale’and are definitely not Triffids (after all they don’t have legs but just spread out at the base like a tree trunk) but then they do have sort of flower shaped‘heads’with a separate whippy tongue/tentacle thing to stick in the front. Having said that, I’d drill a deeper hole in their‘face’to accept the sting as it really does need locating well. However, detail is pretty good and they have quite a universal appeal: I’m not quite sure I could comfortably stretch them to a 6mm game but – at around 40mm tall – they are certainly usable from 15mm to 54mm as horrible flesh eating plants and are £4 a pack of four.

I know I said I couldn’t put them up against 6mm but they looked quite satisfyingly bizarre against the 6mm scale (1/285th, I guess) New Ukrainians Planetary Defence Force I’ve been sent. These tracked, turreted AFVS include the Bulava Heavy Tank (about 28mm long); Vyriz Medium Tank; Zhalo Light Tank; Shershnem Tank Destroyer and the Yastrub MICV. They also feature the Groza II tracked artillery piece, which is not yet available in 15mm. What they don’t include are the air wing (the Perseus and the Demeter VTOLS – but they are already available in other forces) or the Polevka Tracked Jeep: but in 6mm those will be tiny! Prices for these will vary between 75p and £1.50 depending on size and should be out by the time you read this.
