Crooked Dice make an interesting range of miniatures: it’s very difficult to pigeon-hole any month’s worth of releases in just one column but... I’ll give it a go!

This month I have four set of things: priests; more skellies; an enormous Orc and some‘60s computers (the latter in resin). So I’ll start with those first (as I haven’t room to get them into Quartermaster). The 7TV range was started with‘60s Spy-fi and big computer banks with screens and whirling tape reels are very much the order of the day from The Prisoner to The Avengers to Bond. £20 buys a seven piece Date Centre, cast in grey resin and looking every inch the part at 43mm tall for the largest elements.

In their Fantasy Skeletons line they have some more new releases: they are fine, one piece castings, all about 30mm tall and armed with a selection of axes and morning stars for the most part. No prices on those yet as they are pretty new, as is... The Big Orc. He’s 40mm tall but 60mm to the top of his (very) horned helmet. He has a separate right hand holding and axe, a shield for his left arm and a well fitting fur cloak – all in metal and he’s pretty hefty (but not pretty!). I have to say that – stylistically – this one’s ‘not quite my tempo’ but fans of‘80s Old Hammer games will probably love him.

Finally, those clerical chaps: every game needs‘civilians’and NPCS and what better than three Island Priests plus their tea loving house keeper. Superb renditions of Fathers Jack, Ted and Dougal with Mrs Doyle. £15 the set.
