In last month’s issue there was an interesting piece on playing Bolt Action

rules, transposed onto the moon. Although Warlord’s BA ruleset is usually played in 28mm, the game outlined – like my own attempts at Lunar shoot-em-ups – was played in 15mm but didn’t seem to suffer for all of that scale swapping shenanigans. So – if that’s the case – why not take that reduction a step further (or smaller) and think about 6mm?

Brigade have just released a Lunar Station. But that’s not a base for habitation, that’s an actual station. For trains. And – as this is obviously set in the ‘far’ future (come on Musk: pull your finger out!) – those trains have to be on a mono-rail system. A Moon- o-rail! Geddit?

Bear in mind this manufacturer already makes an ‘earthbound’ monorail system in this scale, I suspect the designers have a bit of a fetish for the subject matter but I’m all in favour of that: the tubular station model is a solid, resin, one piece casting about 130mm long (for a tenner) and there are a pair of engine cars which make a short train for both passengers and equipment. Plus there’s a pair of hazardous waste transporter cars as additional carriages for explosive fun! All carriages and engines are resin and metal kits and are £3 a pair.

Of course you don’t have to use it on the moon: the station would make an excellent alternative to their existing Desert Station in more advanced settings but that seems a bit anti-climactic to me!

Detail is good (the station comes with a couple of metal aerial doodads to stick on) and the design is certainly different. It would make a great scenario objective marker for a game.
