RESOLVING THE EFFECTS OF PART ONE

-

To determine the effects of your choices in last month’s issue, please follow this checklist and update your units accordingly. Refer to the paragraph number listed in last month’s issue:

Paragraph 5.

Do you abandon the gun? Cross off the gun and limber from your list of units, you will not be able to use them in the coming battle.

Keep marching, but use the infantry to help haul the gun? Nominate one of your Line Infantry units. They are fatigued from their exertions. They have a -1 penalty on their first activation roll of the game.

Take the horse from Dobblers wagon and hitch it to the gun? If the wagon still has loot on it, the men while unhappy, understand that it’s better to have a cannon with them than not and while they grumble, it’s not too loud. No game effect.

Paragraph 10.

Did your troops eat the apples? Were they unripened apples or was something more sinister afoot? Either way your men are complaining of stomach ache and diarrhoea. Roll d6 for each unit, on a 5,6 - remove one figure unable to serve due to crippling diarrhoea.

Paragraph 11.

Did you turn a blind eye to the looting and carry on? The troops like you and consider that you have their interests at heart. Each unit gets +1 bonus on their first Rally roll of the game.

Did you unload the loot and order Dobbler to carry on? The troops think you’re a staff monkey with no sense, but they content themselves with grumbling.

Did you leave the wagon behind? You’ve revealed yourself as a complete idiot and the lads, nearly out of their sick beds, have to carry their packs for two days. Every unit has a -1 activation penalty for the first two activations of the game due to fatigue.

Paragraph 16.

Did you charge? If you sent the light infantry charging in, they take one casualty, but they’ve a renewed sense of confidence in themselves. +1 Discipline for the rest of the game.

Paragraph 20.

Did you meet the school master on your way? You gained valuable intelligence. When discarding the cards after laying out the potential enemy positions, you may look at the discarded cards.

Paragraph 21.

After the hard fighting, the unit at the head of the column takes three casualties, but they put the fear of God into the enemy. The first enemy unit to take a rally test in this game does so at a -1 penalty.

Paragraph 23.

Do you still have the gun? If you lost your gun at the ford cross it off your list of units.
