◗ £7.50 - £20

One of the things I love about this hobby is the sort of mixed bag of releases that smaller companies can often produce

Antediluvian Miniatures is no exception to this rule and – this month – I will have to cram in some early Scots, a Cthulhu style monstrosity, a substantial giant (with just a little extra) and a famous cultist.

Zorgan Mark II is a multi-tentacled creature which is around 50mm when assembled to the top of the horn on his head. At £20 he is a fiver cheaper than his original release (Zorgan Mark I – still available – comes with a resin base with separate tentacles to stick onto it). But if that doesn’t hit your buttons how about a large giant? I looked hard at Athach: an impressive 60mm tall giant cast in metal with a separate arm wielding a tree trunk to stick on and wondered what was different... Then it struck me: he has a third arm growing out of the middle of his chest! It’s a well detailed – if pretty heavy – model that will need a substantial base. £20.

We also have that magic user: the Beastly Demonologist (accompanied by a small Homunculus) is a 28mm metal rendition of Alistair Crowley in exactly the pose that he was famously photographed in with his hands up to his face and wearing robes and a baffling hat. An excellent model and £8 for the pair (coming with a plastic base)

After all that excitement, some Early Islesmen as a four pack of metal, 28mm wargames figures is easy to overlook: £7.50 buys a mix of chain and other armour with, shields helmets, coifs, swords and an axe.
