Modiphius have been busy this month. As you’ll see from the scenario in this issue, they have some new models out for review. I have three sets here.

Found throughout Skyrim, the Frostbite Spider is a nasty creature. The £26 boxed set contains three 32mm scale model spiders on scenic bases. The models are around 35mm nose to tail and come in three different poses. The legs are cast in groups but will need sticking to the bodies and – for size – it depends on the pose but some are also around 30mm across. The scenic bases help with assembly having divots for the feet.

The next box contains the Dwemer Spheres and Spiders. These tireless guardians are – effectively – robotic guard‘creatures’and the box has three Dwemer Spiders and two Dwemer Spheres (with five scenic bases). Again, these are all unique sculpts and each kit comes in a number of pieces allowing a sight amount of variation with assembly.

Finally there’s a Dwemer‘commander’ for want of a better term, although it comes with some firepower in support. The Dwemer Centurion is equipped with blistering steam and a crushing maul but is flanked by two supporting Dwemer Ballistas. These latter figures are mobile artillery pieces whose deadly bolts pose a terrible threat to those brave enough to delve the depths of the Dwemer ruins. All – of course – come with scenic bases. These last two boxes are £39 each.

For quality of casting look at what I’ve said about the Fallout figures: they are scaled at 32mm and cast in pale grey resin and impeccably detailed.
