EISENKERN PANZERJAGER IN 28MM

A number of months ago, Wargames Atlantic released box of Eisenkern Stormtroopers. They are very much – as I described them in issue 456 – a cross between Tamiya Germans and Star Wars Storm Troopers: lots of bits to stick together but a very full-body-armour feel from a galaxy far, far away. Sculpted by Mark Mondragon, I have to say I think they are excellent: I really enjoy the proportionate look and feel and the level of detail.

The Stormtroopers now have some support: the Eisenkern Panzerjäger have arrived and they are designed as special forces, trained to hunt and kill all forms of mechanised opponents: so tank and mech killers! Within their ‘lore’, many Panzerjäger squads are formed with allfemale members and this is reflected in the head options of the figures. This box set builds into up to 20 figures in hard plastic with several different weapon options and parts to make squad leaders. This set is also compatible with the Stormtroopers set so that allows weapon and bits swaps with good interchangeability between the boxes.

The box contains four identical sprues and – as I implied earlier – it doesn’t contain just simple torsos, heads and arms (like say the Victrix Normans (see the previous column): each figure comes in six pieces (seven if the legs are separate) and each of the twenty weapon options stick into open hands, so thin plastic glue and a steady nerve are required to assemble the models but they do look great when they are stuck together. No bases are supplied. Recommended.
