CORRIDORS OF POWER

It’s often tricky to look at material on crowd-funded sites as – by the time we’ve seen samples of the product – the Kickstarter has either succeeded or failed.
So, with that said, Raybox Games –a company from Canada – have launched a Kickstarter for HDF corridors and room sections. It launched in November and – checking their site – I’m pleased to report that it was a success and they are fully funded. This means, I would hope, that gamers who didn’t back the system will now be able to purchase them in a regular way.
But what is that system, you ask? They are 28mm/32mm sized, unpainted, self assembly product that gives you 30mm gridded floor areas with corridors about 45mm wide once the walls are in place. There’s sheets of doors (and doorarchways) along with other elements (corner corridors,‘T’junctions etc) and they are thoughtfully numbered to make assembly less of headache, plus there’s a PDF assembly guide from their website. The HDF is very rigid and 3mm thick and they all go together with low walls so that you can still reach – and see – the miniatures. These have a flat top so that you can place items like figures or counters. What they are aimed straight at are, I guess, Space Hulk or maybe ship board actions for Star Wars Legion but they would also provide excellent scenery for the likes of Stargrave.
It’s best to look at the Kickstarter site – viewable from their website – for prices and (just as importantly) shipping: wood is heavy and Canada might involve some postage to your locale... For those who like their corridors 3d (but not printed) these are a good alternative to resin.
