GZG have released some new 15mm scale miniatures although – as is often the case with some of their range – the new models are fairly non-scale specific.

A little while ago GZG produced some four and six legged Drones. These new ones have more‘crunch’being very obviously digitally sculpted in fine detail and – in at least one case – are more arachnicly accurate (if that’s even a word...). That’s because they have the right number of legs!

First there are newer versions of the older six legged, circular bodied drones. These come with a variety of weapon types: coded V15-184A (with the twin guns), 184B (the single tribarrel) and 184C

(the recon/sensor one with various lenses and pickups); each type is supplied in a pack of three. But – on top of that – are the new, larger, eight legged, drones. They come with a bigger circular body and, again, are fitted with a choice of weapons: coded V15-185A (twin plasma cannon, with thinner, smooth barrels), and 185B

(twin laser cannon, the thicker stubby barrels with the ribbed panels). If that isn’t ‘spider drone option’ enough, there will be several more weapon variants of these soon. These come two in a pack.

Also supplied have been newer versions of the GZG Wheeled Drones but there’s also an all-new type with a tracked chassis but the weapon mounts are all interchangeable between both hulls. This means that each is available with the single-barrel autocannon, the tri-barrel rotary MG or the 4-round missile pod. Codes start at V15-169 for wheeled or V15-170 for tracked, all with letters after their name for the different weapons. Each are three to a pack and all are £3.60. These latter models work well as small drones in 28mm and all do service as bigger vehicles – especially the spider drones – in 6mm. Recommended.
