FALLOUT RECRUITS
Modiphius Entertainment’s latest Fallout figure sets have just landed: these are the Railroad Core Box; Gunners Core Box; Conquerors of Quincy; and Railroad Operatives sets. Each are a boxed set of 32mm scale, resin models with various numbers per pox (and different prices to suit) and all come complete with detailed scenic bases. All are – obviously – specifically designed to complement and support the Fallout background and system but, to be frank, they will suit any game that needs post apocalyptic types in everything from shirt sleeves, via combat gear, to body armour (with the odd robot thrown in). They are all cast in high-detail with very proportionate sculpts, in fine grey resin that needs some assembly with cyano glue.
The Railroad Core Box has six figures: Desdemona (female, big gun); Drummer Boy; Doctor Carrington; Mister Tims; Tinker Tom (covered in EDC equipment); and P.A.M. (a humanoid robot) and retails for £43. It’s a great selection of armed folks, largely wearing regular clothing (plus the‘bot).
The Gunners Core Box has five models: a Commander; Sergeant; two Privates (with two weapon options); and a Conscript (also with a pair of weapon choices). This set retails for £40. The Commander is dressed in full power armour (with the helmet off) and is double armed but the other four are in military outfits, with a useful weapon selection (pistols, rifles and the odd knife).
The Railroad Operatives and Conquerors of Quincy sets are the latest releases: as I write this review I have less information as they are not even on the Modiphius website yet, so a description must suffice. The Railroad Operatives appear to be six models for £35. They are five figures wearing some sort of uniform and carrying a selection of large or long weapons: a shot gun and a Gatling cannon being two of them. There is also a tall leader in just shirtsleeves weaning sun glasses and carrying a large, scoped hunting rifle. The Conquerors of Quincy set (£24) is a four figure box. This appears to have a couple of chaps in various degrees of military clothing (one in partial armour); a guy in full armour (and an excellent Stetson!) and another fighting robot of some kind plus a selection of optional weapons.
Highly recommended.
