MORE FALLOUT

Modiphius.net £24 - £43

-

Modiphius Entertainment has just released more Fallout figures to add to the four boxes from last month, plus a rules expansion. Let’s start with the figures:

First off are the Robots: Protectron Workers. What we have here are three, slightly larger than human sized, bipedal robots (maybe 40mm tall or so) and they have a real‘50s ‘Robbie the Robot’ feel to them which I love. Each is a resin kit with separate arms and legs to allow a little positioning but they are all unique and all three come with a detailed base £24).

The second box are a six figure set called Children of Atom: Zealot Congregation. £43 buys some great looking extremists: two are holding some sort of aggressive device but the chap with the big gun giving the ‘power to the people’salute and the woman on her knees with a book on the floor (moulded onto the base) are both superb. Who doesn’t love a religious maniac in a game?

The expansion book is up to

Modiphius’usual high standards.

£33 buys a 65-page softback. It’s full colour throughout in slightly sub-A4 and features a fair amount of inspirational photography. It also has a guide to assembling your models (resin isn’t something everyone has experience of) and a rather detailed painting guide (for Survivors, the Brotherhood of Steel, and Super Mutants) using Army Painter references which is very useful.

However, the meat of the book is obviously gaming stuff and it’s loaded up with rules for the factions such as those Children of the Atom, plus the Gunners and the Railroad I reviewed last month. There are also 171 new cards for equipment; leaders; perks; power armour; quests; AI; and loads of weapons. All are very nicely produced, plus there are scenarios and loads more. Obviously, this is just an expansion and not a stand alone product and you’ll still need rules, dice, and other stuff found in the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare Starter Set to use this volume.

Modiphius’figures are not cheap: forty-odd quid for six models is a big ask. I’ll counter that with them being unique, proportionately sculpted, gorgeous and – you don’t need many! Highly recommended.
