BLACK PYRAMID

Black Pyramid have been producing more figures in their range called Regent Z,
which is aimed at Napoleonic or Regency era gaming with a non historical twist (so, ideal for the likes of Osprey’s The Silver Bayonet). They are a little hard to find on their website, even while searching, but they are listed on a sub-menu beneath the Black Pyramid Gaming heading and then (drilling down) within the Vox Pouli
section. So what did they send?
They supplied four figures, all manufactured in a dark grey resin. All barone came as a single piece casting (which was impressive) so we’ll start with him. The Plague Doctor has a long coat and wide brimmed hat, plus gauntlets and a mask with that classic‘beak’style so popular in illustrations of the period (I’m surprised it hasn’t subsequently re-emerged: perhaps they worked out it was an utter waste of time...). He had a sword hand as a separate casting to stick on and it fitted very well.
The Seeker is an old, skull faced woman in a cloak, pointing; while The Needle is a (fairly gender indeterminate) woman, double armed with pistols, each with a small bayonet attached and a large hat slung on her back.
The final character is Pat: he’s a civilian but – obviously – knows his way around weaponry. He is brandishing a volley gun but – on the principal of keeping a spare handy, for close encounters (“I heard that”) – he has a flintlock rifle slung over his shoulder and a short sword.
All sculpted traditionally by Martin Baker, these average 30mm tall and are some of his best work. Recommended.
