GERMAN MAKERS EXPAND TO MEET DEMAND

-

Two German manufacturers of premium motorhomes and liners have confirmed major expansion plans following a record year of sales.

Last year saw a huge increase in demand for new motorhomes and campervans in almost all European markets and across all sectors from campervans to the largest luxury liners. This was especially the case in Germany.

As a result, luxury liner manufacturer, Morelo, has just confirmed it is planning a comprehensive expansion of its premises to increase capacity and meet that rise in demand.

In just eight months a new area of 4,350m2 is planned in two phases.

The first will see its showroom expanded by another 675m2 with the addition of a new customer lounge and office rooms. Phase two will involve the existing production line being expanded by 64m, to allow the creation of five new working stations (shown below).

New space will also be made available for both the panel and part production.

In addition, Carthago has also announced an extension to its company headquarters in Aulendorf, Germany.

The manufacturer, which makes motorhomes and campervans under both the Carthago and Malibu brand names, created 80 additional workrooms, plus extension options for an additional 40 workplaces, as well as a new restaurant at its HQ at a cost of €7m.

The investment also includes a redesign of the parking spaces with numerous charging stations for e-cars and e-bikes.
