RAPIDO LAUNCHES ANNIVERSARY SERIES

-

French manufacturer, Rapido, is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary in business next season with the launch of a new special edition series of models.

Called the 60 Edition, there will be six models in the series, including two low-profiles (666F and 696F) and four A-classes (8066dF, 8096dF, i66 and i96).

The special anniversary series introduces new fittings, including an inbuilt vacuum cleaner. Discreetly tucked away under the refrigerator, it takes up no additional space and is simple to use: just press the button with your toes after sweeping the motorhome and it will vacuum up the gathered dust. The vacuum also comes with accessories, including a long flexible hose.

Other touches include Truma Combi 6 EH (gas and electricity) heating with CP Plus control panel (except i66), with iNet remote control for the heating and a heating outlet via the living room table leg (model dependent), plus a heated waste water tank.

The exterior of the special edition models comes with new matt black model branding, as well as 16in alloy wheels. There is a ‘60 years’ logo at the entrance to the living area door and all models get exclusive 60 Edition upholstery.

The living room and bedroom get indirect dimmable lighting, with inbuilt spotlights with a ‘coming home’ function.

“We have taken great care to balance the living space and the cab area. To achieve this, the cab bed bottom now has a brand-new finish. Its locking mechanism is practical and discreet, with a simple handle,” explained a Rapido spokesperson.

“The overhead cupboard shape has also been redesigned to perfectly blend with – and continue on from – the cab bed, revealing a modern and dynamic look.”

Meanwhile, the washrooms get two mirrored doors with frosted Rapido logos and laminate countertops with aluminium-style finish – even the shower column has a backlit aluminium-style finish, while the shower tray is black and fitted with a teak-style duckboard.

UK prices and full specifications are yet to be confirmed.
