Do I need to apply for new French paperwork?
I’m a little confused about the new attestation d’accueil.
Please can you check and try to establish the facts on staying with family in France with a motorhome?
I want to stay at my father’s property, but staying in my campervan in his field.
Do I/my family still need an attestation d’accueil and would this be per person or one for the family?

ED This requirement has been in place for non-EU citizens for 15 years who are visiting France, but it is only now that
the UK has left the EU that the issue has arisen.
If you are visiting friends or family in France, then the person you are visiting can apply (in person) to the local town hall.
The applicant should have proof of residency and passport numbers for all the visitors coming to stay.
The €30 fee seems to be per family per visit – we have asked for clarification on this at the French Embassy in London but have had no reply.
If you have official accommodation booked at a campsite then this form is not needed. If you have neither, then the French customs officers may ask to see proof of
funds for your visit – this equates to about €120 per day.
We’ve been in touch with motorhomers who have just entered France from the UK, and they were not asked for anything like this.
It seems, according to online articles, that this certificate is rarely requested when people travelling from visa-exempt countries like the UK are stopped by French immigrations officers.
If any readers have had any experiences of this, please let us know how you resolved it.
