Morelo introduces overcab coachbuilts for 2022

There are three key new models from luxury liner manufacturer, Morelo, for the coming season.

The German maker has introduced a new layout to the Palace range.

The 88G offers a rear island bed with a washroom just in front of this. At 8.99m long, it is also relatively compact for a Morelo, but stil has a garage for a Smart car under the bed. The gross weight is 7.5 tonnes with a payload of 2,000kg. Prices are expected to start from around €260,000 (around £223,000).

The Palace line-up also gets an overcab range for the first time, with five layouts. Based on the Iveco Daily, all feature more circular lounge arrangements and single beds above the cab. Prices will be from around €230,000 (£197k) for the overcabs.

In other changes, Empire Liner models will now be based on the more powerful Mercedes Actros (instead of the Atego), with the top model weighing in at a mighty 18 tonnes and capable of carrying a sports car like a Porsche 911 in the garage. Engines offer up to 460bhp and there are all sorts of slide-out options available.

The manufacturer has also begun expansion work at its German production plant and HQ.

It said that the work was needed as, due to the continuous growth, the current factory has almost reached its capacity.

Therefore, a new building area of 4,350m2 will be created in two phases. First it will extend its showroom will be extended by another 675m2. Additional consultation areas, a new customer lounge and office space for sales and order processing will be located in the new, partly two-storey extension.
