Thanks for the weekend
I have never contributed to a magazine before, but I am absolutely buzzing!
I have just returned from a weekend organised by Camper UK and held at its super campsite at Swinethorpe.
There was a huge number of motorhomes attending and the organisation just flowed easily, helped by a dream team of beautiful, energetic, polite and enthusiastic young people.
We enjoyed a free bus into Lincoln with a welcome coffee and discount from Camper UK’s accessory shop.
I had ordered goods just three days before I arrived and they were ready for me behind the counter.
We also enjoyed browsing the new and used motorhomes for sale.
The sun shone, but the best part was the friendly, helpful atmosphere which prevailed. Everyone was invited and included in gatherings, with calls like ‘share our breakfast’, ‘come and sit at our table’ and ‘do you want a hand with that? all heard.
Later on, in a decorated and illuminated marquee, we had bingo, games and other entertainment. There was also a bar with low prices, a hog roast and then a firework display!
All this was under the sad happening of the owner’s family recently losing a close member.
When my partner was too ill to drive, the family even drove some 90 miles to collect us to buy our ’van.
Throughout my partner’s journey with cancer, I had to change our sleeping accommodation to enable him to sleep without pain.
The team at Camper UK were terrific and so patient ,as we were clearly among those hard-to-please customers.
On one occasion, I took the roof off my Auto-Trail, which I was due to part exchange for a new-to-me ’van.
I stupidly wanted to give a little village garage the business of filling my ’van with diesel.
I didn’t notice the low canopy, which was already very battered from previous customers! I dreaded telling the team at Camper UK, but the response was simply for me to bring the motorhome in and they would sort it.
They did and I am grateful to Camper UK to this day for that.
I have been buying ’vans off Camper UK for nearly 10 years and it has been thoroughly honest, caring, knowledgeable and efficient throughout.
I would like to thank the organisers at the Carthago
Owners’ Club. They were efficient, helpful and considerate rally hosts.
And of course thank you to Camper UK!
