Ripley Caravan Park, North Yorkshire
Ripley Caravan Park is situated a short walk from the beautiful, quiet village of Ripley, near Harrogate in North Yorkshire. This deceptively large site offers a mixture of static and touring pitches, a number of which are set around a large duck pond.
Despite its size and family-friendly approach, the site is surprisingly peaceful and relaxed. Pitches are mostly hardstanding with some grass pitches available, too. The site is neatly landscaped, and pitches are relatively generous.
The facilities are built to a good standard. One main block serves the whole site, but with dual bathrooms and showers on either side of the block; cleaning closure times never present a problem.
There is a lot on offer for families. In addition to a large adventure playground, the site also boasts an indoor heated pool, sauna, nursery room and a games room. Towards the outer edge of the site there is a football and a volleyball pitch. Due to Covid restrictions when we visited, the games room was closed, and swimming sessions were subject to a daily booking system. But we did have great fun attempting to play volleyball!
Walking the short route into Ripley from the site is easy, with a dedicated pathway through the field that runs adjacent to the main road. The village of Ripley is idyllic, with a small, perfectly formed cobbled market square set beneath the beautiful
Ripley Castle. On a sunny day, Ripley is glorious with quaint flower-covered cottages, parish church, tea room and of course a traditional English pub. And what day would be complete without a visit to the world-famous Ripley ice cream shop?
A little further afield you’ll find the spa town of Harrogate, the market town of Knaresborough, with its impressive viaduct and the grand city of York.
Ripley Caravan Park is a pleasant site catering well for families, but not exclusively so. The easy walking distance into the beautiful village of Ripley makes it a super little spot.
