Pantmawr Farm CS, Ceredigion

-

This is a small Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, situated in an idyllic location about four miles inland from the Welsh seaside town of Aberystwyth.

Access is via a narrow, but straight road to the farm from the main A485 and this should not present problems for larger units, although it is a steep exit back onto the main road.

We received a very friendly welcome from the owners, who are only too pleased to help and clearly care for the site.

All the pitches are on level, wellkept grass and are well spaced out with electric hook-up points close by. The TV reception was good.

There is a small wooden building containing one unisex toilet and one shower, which are both kept very clean. A small washing-up area is located at the back of the building. Chemical disposal is situated with the farm buildings up a short, but reasonably steep gravel path along with additional toilet facilities.

into Aberystwyth. Alternatively, it is a pleasant four-mile walk or cycle along the Ystwyth Cycle Trail, which passes by the site. The entire trail is 20 miles long and links Aberystwyth with Tregaron, partly along the disused Manchester and Milford Railway branch line.

The River Ystwyth is accessible directly from the site and is a lovely spot.

The little village of Llanilar with a small shop and pub is just over one mile away from

Pantmawr Farm along the railway path, but you would probably prefer to use Aberystwyth for a larger choice of shops, services and places to eat.

Other activities to choose from close by include walking on the beautiful Ceredigion Coast Path and the scenic Vale of Rheidol Railway between Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge.

The small seaside village of Borth, north of Aberystwyth, is worth a visit.
