Las Moreras AC Camperpark, Castelló
I discovered this delightful camper park on my way back home from Spain last year, so this year I made sure I visited it again. Sited in a quiet back street in the Spanish resort of Alcossebre, it is quiet enough for an undisturbed night’s sleep, but only a short 10-minute walk from all the bars and restaurants.
Alcossebre extends from the mountains of Irta and Murs down to the coast. It is a seaside village in the Valencian community located on the Costa del Azahar along the eastern Mediterranean coast in the province of Castelló. Unlike most coastal towns, Alcossebre is not fully urbanised, so you can still get a feel of old Spain. There are five main beaches, and all accessible from a wonderful walkway.
Every pitch on the camper park is 40 metres square, with hardstanding made from gravel. Each pitch has been individually levelled to provide an area for large motorhomes, with a single electrical outlet on each pitch.
There is shade available in summer on all of the pitches.
The site boasts a launderette, toilets, hot showers, washing machines... even a shower for dogs! There’s also an outside handwashing area for pots and clothes. In common with most continental sites, there is a drive-over concrete area with drain for easy grey waste dumping and a fresh water tap with hose alongside to facilitate filling. And, of course, a black waste disposal with separate tap and hosepipe.
The site has not been open long, but the owner has already built a swimming pool and sunbathing deck, and has plans to extend the bar and restaurant on site. The reception area sells fruit and bread.
The owner speaks several languages, including English, so communication should not be a problem on this wonderful, inexpensive site.
