Lincomb Lock Caravan Park, Worcestershire

-

This is mainly a static caravan park with 12 adults-only touring pitches. Hardstandings are given to motorhomes and have electric, fresh and waste water points. The touring area is by the main car park, but the owners have done their best to screen pitches with hedges and there are no regulations on how to park.

There is a covered pot wash and an Elsan area behind reception. The washroom was exceedingly clean, although unheated, with large all-in-one cubicles and piped music. This is a short walk up a slope from the touring area and there are no accessible facilities, so it might not be suitable for all.

The wardens have created a lovely garden area with beehives and there is a meadow and dog walk with picnic benches. Walking a little further takes you to the River Severn; either walk to the lock or a 30-minute walk will take you into Stourport-on-Severn. A short walk along the river is the marina, with a bar and restaurant that was highly recommended by staff and campers alike.

The campsite staff go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant experience. When you arrive on site a pitch marker indicates your pitch. A member of staff welcomed us and told us where everything was located and even printed the Severn Valley Railway timetable for us.

There are maps of walks from the site and it has its own fishing rights for the Severn. Further afield is the West Midland Safari Park, Bodenham Arboretum, and Witley Court.

The only minor niggles were the lack of visibility pulling out into the main road from the site and one or two pitches were a bit tight to manoeuvre on and off. The washroom timer light went off whilst I was having a shower and the wardens are going to look at this.

We would definitely stay at this site again if in the area, and discounts are available for midweek stays and for bookings of seven nights.
