ID Buzz campervan available for hire

-

One of the first campervans based on the all-electric Volkswagen ID Buzz is now available to hire. Wild Drives, an exclusively electric campervan hire company, is offering the new camper to hire from £150 per night.

The conversion was carried out by Love Campers, based in East Sussex. It features a side-facing settee that pulls out to form a slatted bed alongside the kitchenette, which includes an induction hob, sink and fridge. The interior is made with a modern ply laminate and bamboo for a bright and retro feel. The campervan also offers a lithium battery and roof-mounted solar panel, making it suitable for off-grid camping without using fossil fuels.

All Wild Drives’ campervans have been built by Love Campers in their environmentally certified workshop, using sustainable materials and processes. All the wood used is FSC certified and the campers have natural fibre for insulation.

Each also comes with a litter picker and sustainable bin liners as well as a compost bin for food waste, which is collected and composted at the end of the trip.

Wild Drives’ founder, Lewis Nyman, says his company was started, “to protect the beauty of nature for future generations” and to provide “customers with a unique and eco-friendly travel experience.”

Love Campers’ Director, Clara Usiskin, said, “The Buzz campervan brings together the best features of vintage VW campers, with modern design and cutting-edge sustainability.”

The award-winning ID Buzz base vehicle – watch the MMM ID Buzz review at motorhome.ma/ review269 – has a WLTP range of 208 miles and a charging time of 5% to 80% in 30 minutes on DC rapid charging (replenishing an empty battery on a 7kW home wallbox will take up to 11 hours).
