Q Af­ter los­ing touch with the hobby for a few years, I am be­gin­ning to get back into it, now that I have the space in which to work. I was read­ing Ge­orge Dent’s book on de­tail­ing diesels and it men­tions etched brake discs; where can I pur­chase th­ese? I also re­mem­ber a web­site ad­ver­tis­ing etched kits of var­i­ous large bo­gie hop­pers, in­clud­ing the Na­tional Power hop­pers. Are th­ese still avail­able? Ja­son Fisher, by e-mail

A Un­for­tu­nately, I can­not find any avail­able kits for the Na­tional Power JMA coal hop­per wag­ons, with the near­est RTR op­tion be­ing to re­paint the Bach­mann (or Far­ish) Freight­liner HHA. As for brake disc in­serts, you’ve sev­eral op­tions, listed above. (GD)
