FAC­TFILE: LICKEY ‘66s’

In the mid‑ 2000s, EWS mod­i­fied a quin­tet of Class 66s (66055-059) for bank­ing du­ties on the Lickey In­cline, with small poseable spot­lights in­stalled on the cab fronts. So far, two of this mini‑fleet have re­ceived DB red liv­ery, each be­ing ‘chris­tened’ with tra­di­tional cast name‑ plates. 66055 Alain Thau­vette pays homage to a former se­nior man­ager of DB’S West­ern Europe busi­ness, while 66058 car­ries
