FIX YOUR LIGHTS
generally speaking, there is only one way to fix a miniature street light to your layout: drill a hole through the baseboard, feed the wires through and fix the post with PVA glue. Lights from gaugemaster and Woodland Scenics have a rigid metal ‘pin’, through which the wires pass, that needs to be fixed in a hole in the baseboard. however, other manufacturers have devised their own ways of fixing the lamps in place. Atlas, for example, has a screw thread and nut arrangement, whereas Viessmann uses a plug. When drilling a hole, make sure you get the bit size right. Too small and your light won’t fit; too big and your light will wobble about. A set of callipers will be a big help. You can disguise the base of the light with scatter.
