As your kit de­vel­ops, it can some­times get a lit­tle con­gested, leav­ing lit­tle room for the sol­der­ing iron. How­ever, there’s a neat trick you can use in this sit­u­a­tion: tin both sides of the brass, hold cast­ing in place over the tinned area, add flux to the joint and then heat from un­derneath. The heat goes through solder, then brass, and melts the solder around the cast­ing.
