Rolling, rolling, rolling…
Shaping etched metal parts is simple. All you need is a computer mouse mat and a steel rod. Cut the part from the fret and tidy up the edges with a needle file.
Lay the part face-down onto the back of the mouse mat and gently roll the steel rod across the surface. Start with the rod in the centre of the part and move back and forth.
Only gentle pressure is required. Check the profile regularly. If it needs a tighter curvature, apply more pressure with the rod.
