Layout spotlight

Model Rail (UK) - - The Club Room -

Layout: ‘Chesterbury’ Builder: Michael Grace Location: Fictional This is my first attempt at a model tramway, having built several model railways in the past. It came about after I bought a motorised Corgi die-cast tram and decided to build a layout for it to run on. The name ‘Chesterbury’ is a combination of Chesterfield – where I live – and Bury – from where I originate. I wanted to create a ‘3D picture’ with atmosphere rather than a detailed scale model. I found that placing several similar-looking but static trams together was a cheap way of creating a busy street scene, even if only one tram is motorised. My next task is to improve the appearance of the track and to tackle the overhead wiring!
