Your opinions on the crane tank proposed by P.D Smith in Model Rail 247

Yes, yes, yes – a very big yes. I would love to see more unique and quirky little engines made into RTR models – especially industrial engines like this! I’d pre-order as soon as it was announced. Luke Ryan

Definitely yes! David Flisher

We need, and I mean NEED, crane tanks – period. It may just be me but I’ve only ever seen scratchbuilt ones – I’d love to see one ready-to-run. Ethan

Yes please – very useful for my upcoming dock layout. Christopher Buttigieg

It would make an excellent model for an industrial layout. Mike Gregory

Potential manufacturers would have a tricky decision to make. Do you make the jib/crane static, make it manually adjustable or motorise it? It would be great with DCC control but that would push the price right up and it wouldn’t work on non-dcc layouts, but if it’s not motorised it seems like an avoidable compromise. Mark Patrick

Not for me I’m afraid, can’t see it being a viable proposition. Michael Hickling

I’d buy it for the play value alone. Tom Wright

It’d be lovely to see more from the North East area, as well as more industrials, so yes please. Dean Walker
