Model inspiration

Model Rail (UK) - - OPENING THE BOX -

How about this for an intriguing scene worth modelling? South Western Railway has introduced a new Saturdays-only service from Basingstoke to the delightful station at Corfe Castle on the preserved Swanage Railway. This service, which is set to run until September 8, brings SWR Class 159s to the beautifully restored Southern Railway station that lies in the shadow of the ruined castle, built by William the Conqueror. You can find the new service on National Rail Enquires, which is a neat twist given that BR declared the Swanage branch surplus to requirements in 1972. There were even plans to build a bypass through the site. MARK PIKE
