Model railway historian Michael D. Foster has published the latest part of his in-depth look at smaller British model train manufacturers. British Toy Trains Book 4 delves into the world of Brimtoy, as well as taking a look at many smaller manufacturers, under the heading ‘One Hit Wonders’. These range from Timpo Trains and Toby Railways to the London Underground trains produced by Eveready (better known for its batteries) and A&J Van Riemsdijk, which made excellent ‘OO’ gauge clockwork Peckett six-coupled side and saddle tanks.
