Pigs fly again

A familiar shape has returned to the former LSWR main line in the form of the Class 442 EMUS. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 11 years since the ‘442s’ were withdrawn from this route, but South Western Railway is to resurrect 18 for London Waterloo-portsmouth duties. The ‘Plastic Pig’ EMUS are available in ‘OO’ from Britannia Pacific (www.britanniapacific. co.uk) while ‘N’ gauge modellers need to look out for old TPM conversion kits (no longer available new).
