SONIC REVOLUTION!

-

Revolution Trains is to produce the GWR ‘56XX’ 0-6-2T as its first ‘N’ gauge steam locomotive. Unlike other Revolution products, the ‘56XX’ will not be crowdfunded as it’s being produced by new Chinese manufacturer Sonic Models. The ‘56XX’ was the GWR’S attempt to produce a standard 0-6-2T for traffic on the newly absorbed railways in South Wales. It built 200 between 1924 and 1928, with batches being produced at Swindon and by Armstrong Whitworth. The last was withdrawn in 1966 and nine still survive. Sonic will produce three liveries (GWR green, BR unlined black and BR lined green). The model will sport a six-pin DCC socket, NEM coupler pockets, a coreless motor and key detail differences. Delivery is expected towards the end of 2019. Price: TBC, but expected to be around £90.00 Availability: Revolution Trains stockists or www.revolutiontrains.com
