Your opinions on the Class 304 EMU, proposed by Trevor Moss in MR254. www.facebook.com/ modelrail I’d buy several. It’s a unit that was seen pretty much all over the core of the West Coast route for nearly 35 years, and even made occasional trips down to London. It carried multiple liveries from lined green to blue and grey, with a handful of the later units even being turned out in Regional Railways livery. I could find room for a green-liveried unit with yellow bib, a blue unit with small yellow panel, a blue unit with full yellow end, blue/grey, and Regional Railways colours, so yes, I’d definitely be up for one or two. Mark Wiles It would be nice, and older generation EMUS should be available, but at the prices units sell for these days I’d rather not bother. David Long Yes, we need more slam door EMUS made in RTR. I had fond memories of these units. Peter Gower Top of my wishlist for RTR. They’ve been around for a good while, with quite a few livery options and areas of use. This and a 104 would be perfect. Garry Sherwood Absolutely! I have many great memories of ‘Dinosaurs’ on the Trent Valley bouncing between Stafford and Rugby. I’d buy one! Neil Samsom The market now has a lot of Southern EMUS which have proved a success, so I’d imagine a 25kv unit would be as popular. Amy Adams What were the units on the Fenchurch Street line in the early 1970s with the pantograph? Were they 304 or 312? If they could produce those with the pantograph then the slam door era would be great. Steve Hussey I have been proposing both the ‘304’ and ‘104’ units for years, hopefully this latest push will yield results. I’d be after at least two of each, and I’d convert one to a 305. Francis Rossi I would definitely buy one, as well as a ‘302’. I remember travelling on them as a kid. Ian Smith I’d like to see a ‘323’ unit – my favourite unit to drive. Colin Davenport-adams
