Lever switch
Peter Wright
I thought this might be of interest to other readers who may have had similar problems. Previously I used the stud and probe method for point operation, but for these sidings/loops I decided to use passing contact switches to save time and effort on building a control panel. I purchased a number of pins direct from Hornby spares but, unlike the originals which were tapered, these replacements are not – and they fall out. I needed a new solution to the problem and after numerous experiments, I came up with the following method. As both the Hornby and older Tri-ang levers are the same, they can be used together. This conversion has saved me a lot of money and I have good connections to all points.
