Factfile: Northampton Guildhall
The Guildhall was designed by Edward Godwin and built between 1861-1864 in the popular Gothic Revival style of the period. Today, it’s Grade II* listed. The façade was originally symmetrical with a central bell tower. A later extension to the west, designed by Matthew Holding in 1892, was rendered sympathetically in a matching style but the symmetry was lost. I have chosen to model just the 1864 building to save time, space and my sanity!
