Bachmann’s Spring announcement, plus other news from the modelling world.
Bachmann Europe began February by revealing the models which will become available within the next three months, as has become customary for the Barwell company. This quarter, the headline news was the announcement of a fully retooled Class 20/0, with both disc and box headcode variants covered. Three livery options will be offered, covering the length of their British Rail careers, with green, blue and Railfreight schemes available.
Having recently released its first Class 20/3 models, it was a logical step for Bachmann to revisit the original version of the venerable Type 1 Bo-bo, as the existing model dates back to 2004. While it was a superb model for its time, this new version will offer a greater degree of detail fidelity and technical specification, including a Plux22
DCC interface, directional lighting and sound options. Excitingly, the new
Class 20/0s are due to arrive within the next few months.
Fans of the Hawksworth ‘Modified Hall’ 4-6-0 will be delighted to hear that a new version is being released with a revised tooling, taking care of the front end issues that the previous model faced. Two versions are being offered initially, both in BR lined green and depicting the preserved duo of No. 6990 and No. 6998
