NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND JOBS AT KERNOW

-

Kernow Model Rail Centre has moved its mail order operation to a new warehouse, located close to its existing Camborne store. The company has gone through immense growth in recent years and the new warehouse is solely for the mail order operation and will not be open to the public. The stores at Camborne and Guildford will continue to serve customers in accordance with the latest Covid-19 restrictions. All existing contact details and order methods remain the same.

As a result of this growth, Kernow is also looking to expand the team. There are new opportunities for customer service staff based at the Camborne branch and also additional staff on the picking and packing side at the new warehouse (if you’re interested in any of the new roles, email: sales@kernowmodel railcentre.com).

Further developments have included the Kernow team approving the much-anticipated ‘OO’ ex LSWR/SR 10ton Road Van for production. First introduced by the LSWR in 1884, almost 500 examples were built, making them the most numerous LSWR Goods Brake Van. Featuring a set of side doors for the loading of parcels or other goods, they were known as road vans, rather than brake vans.

Production should commence at the end of March, with shipment to the UK during May/june. Details of the ten versions being produced can be found on Kernow Model Rail Centre’s website.
