BACK STORY: BUZZCOCKS V2.0

Within a month of Spiral Scratch’s release, Devoto left and it was Buzzcocks 2.0, who began their recorded career with a jet-propelled, ecstatic version of Orgasm Addict with design by Malcolm Garrett and artwork by Linder Sterling. Devoto formed Magazine, who debuted at the Last Night of the Electric Circus in October 1977. Buzzcocks closed the event with Time’s Up. Despite their timeliness, the Time’s Up recordings languished until May 1978, when some enterprising soul bootlegged them in an ugly cover. They were officially released in 2000.
