ALFRED E. NEUMAN WINS IN COURT
Billboard magazine reports an attempt by several leading music publishers to sue Mad magazine. A US District Court judge has dismissed the charges in the case of 23 songs out of 25, all part of a spoof songbook titled Sing Along With Mad that contained lyrics for songs including My Padded Overtime (to be sung to the tune of My Funny Valentine) and How Are Things In Philadelphia (sung to the tune How Are Things In Glocca Morra).
