From what David Gilmour insists will be the last Floyd album, this daring summary of the group’s historical dynamic – with a lyric hewn from wife Polly Samson’s observations of the briefly reunited quartet backstage at Live 8. “We bitch and we fight/Diss each other on sight,” concedes Gilmour, before unfurling a guitar solo that sounds like a peace offering.
