In the continuing absence of Tuva’s Yat-Kha, this Indonesian duo are pushing overtone drones and dirge-metal guitarplaying into extremes hitherto rarely visited by folk music. You wouldn’t want to play it while alone in the dark, but Rully Shabara (vocals) and Wukir Suryadi (home-made instruments) call spirits from the soil with enough power to trouble the Richter scale.
