Yoko Goes Universal
Apple Records releases JANUARY 8 Approximately Infinite Universe, a double album by Yoko Ono. Recorded with New York band Elephants Memory plus minimal support provided by John Lennon and Mick Jagger, the album includes Song For John, which, Yoko explained in Ray Coleman’s biography Lennon, was “made actually before I met him. I was hoping to find someone who’d fly with me, or whatever, and I made a demo record. It’s the first demo of mine that John listened to… for sentimental reasons, I called it Song For John. It’s the same tune, same lyrics.”
