Fats to cause a riot?

The Biggest Show Of Stars for 1957 – a huge package tour of North America featuring Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, The Crickets, Paul Anka, The Drifters, The Everly Brothers, Frankie Lymon, LaVern Baker and more, kicks off with the first of five nights at Brooklyn’s Paramount Theatre. But the tour runs into trouble when a September 8 date in Washington DC is cancelled because city commissioners fear headliner Domino will cause rioting. On another date, LaVern Baker and friends strip Paul Anka, smear him with vaseline and empty a feather pillow on him. The tour ends on November 24 in Richmond,VA.
