You didn’t know whether to laugh or cry

MOJO 312 was yet another brilliant issue – and I haven’t even had time to finish it yet. But at the risk of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted, Martin Aston’s piece on Gene Clark was brilliant: I’d never seen some of those superb photos before with the ex-Byrd in make-up. Surely some mix-up, though, with the year of his death. It wasn’t 1987 – unless my memory fails me and his own headstone is wrong. Yes, May 24, 1991 sounds more like it.
