A pleasing baritone allied to intricate fingerpicking and interweaving trumpets, cornets and flutes, elevates candid storytelling to a higher plane on Brisbane pop classicist’s debut. Quiet nods to ’60s/70s folk, but Tomlinson’s lyrical focus is very much of the times.
