I work just as hard or harder than anybody on that stage
Sad to hear Poco’s Rusty Young has passed away. My big brother Tim took me to see Poco supporting America at the Birmingham Hippodrome in 1975. They were promoting their latest album, Head Over
Heels, a highwater mark in ’70s faded denim Cali country rock. And honestly, America must have been pig sick of Rusty and the boys blowing them off stage every night. They started off with acoustic guitars and harmonies and ended the show with Rusty, pedal steel round his neck, showboating at the edge of the stage while the rest of the band jammed on it. Rusty Young – what a legend!
