Released on Cigarettes After Sex’s Spanish Prayers label, Michael Kuhl and Matthew Pierce’s debut descends into an intoxicating world of dark psych, narcotic drone and heavy electronic moods as The Furniture. With Kuhl’s pillowy, jazz-trained drums to the fore, it was recorded in one take in a basement club in their Baltimore hometown, the sense of intimacy ramped up to heady levels.
