DMC Petra Crochet Cotton 3, 100% cotton, 100g/ 280m per ball. Seven balls in different colours of your choice – label them A, B, C, D, E, F and G 2.5mm ( UK 12, US C/ 2) crochet hook Stitch markers Darning needle Pins Tape measure Spray starch Twine or string for lacing the skirt over the mudguard
Tension is not important for this project but it is important to ensure the stitches give a good finish. As a guide, the granny squares measure approx. 5.5cm ( 2") square and the circles approx. 4.5cm ( 17/ 8") in diameter.

As made the skirt is approx. 23cm ( 9") in radius and approx. 70cm ( 27 / 8") along
5 the rim ( mudguard). However, you will need to adjust the size to fit your bike. Suggestions are provided for this in Step 10 onwards.
